Wish I had purchased it when I first began. I am just learning to play and have many books for the beginner. This is my favorite. I say go for it. Even if you think you know it all this will clarify and reinforce what you have learned.
I am a new player learning with four other gals. The book is easy to read and explains difficult information very easily. I am still reviewing the book. I do take it to my bridge playing group and we use it as it is a great reference.
This bridge book is just what I needed to increase my knowledge of bridge. All my bridge group uses it and refer to it frequently.
No matter what your current level of experience and expertise this easy-on-the-brain book will take you by the hand and lead you through today's acceptable bidding sequences. Published by the American Contract Bridge League, this book is an excellent addition to your bridge library. The logical arrangement makes it a snap to locate any particular areas of concern.
Unless you want to have your partner constantly offering editorials at the table you'd better keep abreast of the commonly accepted methods. There is also an Appendix explaining bridge scoring for both duplicate and rubber games and a useful glossary of terms near and dear to all bridge players. I learned the game more years ago than I'm willing to admit but times - and standards - change.
An index might have been helpful but the detailed Table of Contents serves the reader quite well. This book makes that possible in a clear, no-pain format. You can pick it up and put it down at your leisure.
Red headliners and bold print draw your eye immediately to important points and the pages have room to make personal notes should you want to. If I could only afford one book, this would be the one.
One of the books to learn bridge This latest edition has even more than the earlier ones. Highly recommend.
